Training kicked off on monday with some XC testing. After testing we got back to doing weights. Man oh man did that cause some pain. I have not done weights in about 6 weeks so to jump back in was brutal.
We also had some solid jump sessions this week in XC suits. Jumping in the XC suit raised some mixed feelings for me. At first I was struggling with the process. However on the second day my confidence came back and I started to make some valuable gains. Switching back to a jump suit was not easy. However it definitely made it clear how a jump suit should not be used as a crutch, it should be an aid in your jumping. I found it was really easy to take the suit for granted. Instead of using it for its benefits.
Next week will be another week of solid XC training while throwing in some light jumping. Labor Day weekend will be on our own I plan to spend some time on my bike! Then its back to europe for training camp Number two. Stay tuned for more updates!
