This weekend we have U.S. Nationals let see how it goes. I am feeling good going into the weekend. A good result for myself would be a top 3. I would be very happy with a top three two years in a row. I will keep you updated on how the weekend turns out!

This past weekend I ventured over to Denver, CO to ride with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Team in Training. We rode a 45 mile loop around Golden and downtown Denver. Afterward we had a great barbeque where I got a chance to talk to a lot of the team members and hear their stories. This was the first time I got to meet a lot of the members. The team is riding strong and they are all going to do well in the 100 mile ride.
The team is very inspiring. I am proud to be their Team Hero this season. I am excited to get together with the team again, hopefully before our event in Moab. At the moment I am in Park City working and preparing for Nationals. I am working hard to get my ankle back into shape for jumping. Nationals are at the end of the month here in Park City, UT. On the third of August our team heads over to Europe for Summer Grand Prix's. This year the Summer Grand Prix comps hold a new meaning. They are no longer just a chance to compete and compare to the other athletes. They are now a part of our World Cup schedule, meaning that they will count towards the winter points and athlete rankings. Our team is looking forward to the chance to move up and qualify more athletes on World Cup! This last weekend I was in Lake Placid, NY for Katie and Billy D.'s wedding. This was the first time in my life I have ever been to lake placid and had no skiing agenda. I had a great time. The wedding was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. Throughout the weekend we had a great time swimming in Mirror Lake the water was 75 degrees which was amazing. The trip was short I am back in Park City now I will be on my bike this week as much as possible.
This weekend I will be in Denver meeting my teammates for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society's Team In Training. I am very excited to meet and ride with everyone. According to the schedule we are going to do a 50 mile ride which will be a perfect end of the week ride. If you are around come and ride or visit! The week in steamboat started off great. I had some solid jump sessions and a good run with some of my teammates. However the bliss didn't last long. Just before our afternoon plyo session our team was playing soccer and I was unlucky enough to sprain my ankle pretty bad for the second time this year. So I will not be able to ski this weekend in the 4th of july comps. Right now my main focus is Nationals at the end of july. So all my efforts before then will be focused on rehabbing the ankle to get it back to 100% before then. However this is a great opportunity to take advantage of my down time to become more flexible.
On a lighter note the Tour De France starts tomorrow. The TDF is my favorite sporting event to watch. I have my Fantasy team in for the tour. Our team has a fantasy league which should make life even more interesting. So while everyone else is out on the grind... I will be sitting in my living room stretching, rehabbing, and watching the TDF while managing my fantasy team. Sounds pretty good to me! Dont forget to come check out this weekends comps in Steamboat! |
