Seefeld to Klingenthal to SOCHI!!! If you have watched or read any articles on the last events we have taken part it then you know that our team has been making some progress. Starting Seefeld where Taylor stepped up and achieved his first ever podium. He was simply an animal on the XC course and very cool to watch. In Klingenthal I was able to keep that progress going I put two and two together to get my 2nd and 3rd top ten of the season. It was a huge relief to nab those results with two events left in this period. The next two events happen to be in Sochi, Russia and I am excited to head there with some momentum behind me. More importantly though I am excited just to be in Sochi one last time before the games next year. This will be a great time to take in all the venues the jumps and the course and commit it to memory. Plus there is a lot of excitement around venues like this before the Olympics so I am sure the competitions will be fun and fierce.
After Sochi our team will head home to rest up and recharge before World Championships. A few of us will hit the 5 weeks on the road mark in Sochi, so it will be really beneficial to go home. Once we make the trek back over we will then be here through the rest of the season. Personally I am getting more excited each passing day for the big events to begin. I can feel the energy and the hype starting to build, this is what we all do the sport for and regardless of the results the experience will last. Of course winning a medal will not take anything away from that experience! So Go USA! More to come from Sochi next week!
Our team has just arrived in Seefeld, Austria after a long drive from the Chaux Neuve, France.
So for the those of you curious about France I am here to fill you in with all the details. What you need to know most is that I ate a lot of cheese and bread. It's almost impossible not to eat it while there. I feel our team is starting to become pretty well versed in the cheeses of the area, along with their background stories.
The competitions in Chaux Neuve were not my best. Despite my best efforts I was not able to put two and two together there. However I was very excited to see my brother step up and put down a solid weekend of competition. With the events in the past, the rest of the team and I have put the weekend behind us to gear up for the next two comps here in Seefeld.
Plenty of snow here to keep us entertained during out week of training here. So stay tuned for hopefully good news from the
Success! Not much to say about this that I haven't already said. I think it's very apparent that I was very excited to stand on the podium in the team event in Shonach. It's clear that this shows we are are very much competitors on any given day. We certainly hope to add more of these finishes to our repertoire in the future. Until then I will let the picture speak for it's self. Of course there are a few people that I need to thank because they certainly made this possible. Starting with my sponsors, Madshus, Uvex, USANA, Fast Big Dog Racing, Space Station, Elan, Honey Stinger. Of course behind these great companies there is always the people who make it happen! Without singling individuals out I would like to thank everyone who has supported myself or the team along the way. You all know who you are, and you all know how key you are in my role as an athlete. So THANK YOU! I look forward to sharing more of these with all of you in the future!
