Nordic Combined Athlete
Jumping Farther, Skiing Faster
I am off to a great start of finishing off like I did last year. Surprisingly, I tied my result of 7th place in Lahti again this year. In fact the whole day was full of me matching something or someone else. Taylor and I tied in the provisional round not only in speed, but also in points in the jumping. In the comp I tied my result from the previous year and in the race I started 34 second back and finished 34 seconds back. I even almost tied my XC rank from last years result but I am happy to say that this year I was a little faster.
Anyways it was quite the coincidence and I thought it is fun to share. I was also happy to step back into world cup with a solid finish. This weekend we are in Oslo Norway, the "Holmenkollen" I am very excited to be here again. Just skiing around the last two days has brought back so many memories from last season. I have to say its been very nostalgic. I am doing my best however not to live in the past. This weekend brings a set of new challenges and it's going to take some great racing to be in the hunt.
I think a lot of athletes are very excited for the last day's 15 km race. It's going to be a throw back to older times and it's going to shake things up for the day. Personally I cannot wait. It's been a long time since I have raced a 15 km but I am excited and up for the challenge. So tune in and check it out on Saturday. With any luck you will get to see my mustache on TV again.
Which by the way I hope everyone is celebrating Mustache March accordingly. I know I am.
